“Developing Electrical Power and Energy Systems through

Technological Innovation

IPEC2012 continues the long-standing tradition of addressing issues of immediate and long-term interest to researchers and engineers in electrical power and energy engineering. First started in 1993 as the International Power Engineering Conference, nine very successful conferences have been held so far. Since 2010, in line with the global trends in electrical power and energy technologies, IPEC is renamed as the International Power and Energy Conference.

IPEC2012 is jointly organized by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and technically sponsored by IEEE. It aims to create a forum for scientists and practicing engineers throughout the world to present the latest research findings and ideas in the areas of power and energy.

The theme of IPEC 2012 is “Developing Electrical Power and Energy Systems through Technological Innovation”.

The aim of this premier Power and Energy conference, IPEC 2012 is to provide an international forum for individuals from all over the world to promote, share and discuss various issues and developments in the field of power engineering. It will also provide an unmatched opportunity to connect with other energy industry experts, influential business leaders, policy makers, conservationists, and green building enthusiasts.

Keynote Speakers

Three keynote speakers are expected to address the conference delegates concerning the various issues facing the power industry in both the regional and international arena. Professor David J. Hill,Sydney University, Australia will speak on “FUTURE GRIDS – SCENARIOS, ASSESSMENT, RESILIENCE. Professor Jovica Milanovic, Manchester University, UK will speak on “Challenges Facing Operators of Flexible Power Systems of the Future”. Professor Akihiko Yokoyama, Tokyo University, Japan will speak on “MASSIVE INTEGRATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY INTO POWER GRID TO REDUCE ENERGY’S ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AFTER 3.11 DISASTER IN JAPAN”.

Tutorial Speaker

Professor H B Gooi, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, will speak on “ENHANCING EFFICIENCY OF DISTRICT GRID INFRASTRUCTURE VIA MICROGRID ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” on Tuesday, 11th December, 2012 from 14:00 am to 17:00 hrs.

A small exhibition of power and energy related products and services will be held in conjunction with the conference.
